A veterinary technician is a person who has completed an AMA accredited program and sat for the National Veterinary Technician Examination along with registering with their state association.
What is the difference between a veterinary technician and a veterinary assistant?

A veterinary assistant is someone who has not completed an AVMA accredited program or has and not sat for the national exam yet. A veterinary technician has completed a program along with sat and passed the national examination.
How do I become a vet tech in Maine?

What are the goals of the MVTA?

To provide resources for mental health, job postings, continuing education as well as regulate what we can and cannot do as a veterinary profession as a whole.
